Pocket Fetal Doppler is a manual maternity unit, which can be used in hospitals, clinics for daily self-verification of pregnant women. 1) When can I hear the fetal heartbeat using Doppler?

Most manufacturers offer a 12 week guarantee for a normally developing fetus. No claims are confirmed before 12 weeks of pregnancy.

2) Do I need gel to use with Doppler?

A coupling media is always needed to conduct ultrasound between the human body and Doppler. Ultrasound gel is the best coupling medium. Any water-based gel such as fruit jelly also works.

3) Can I use baby oil, Vaseline to replace ultrasound gel?

No. Oil or petroleum-based gels do not conduct ultrasound efficiently in the human body. It also causes probe damage because oil can enter the ceiling glue of the probe.
